It’s the night before [now the morning of—Ed.] the Official Birthday of HM The Queen, so we now know who has been honoured on this occasion. I have looked through the lists as published by HM Government, and have found the following to be either LIberal Democrats, from Northern Ireland, and in one case from the Parish where my grandmother lives in Cornwall!. Companion of Honour
The Rt Hon. Sir (Walter) Menzies Campbell CBE QC MP has been appointed a Companion of Honour.
Sir Menzies is one of the most respected politicians of his generation. He has been
the Member of Parliament for North-East Fife for over 25 years, achieving
prominence as an opponent of the 2003 Iraq war. He was elected Leader of the
Liberal Democrats in 2006 and went on to lead the UK Delegation to the NATO
Parliamentary Assembly. A former Olympic athlete and Captain of the UK Athletics
Team, he held the British 100 metres record for seven years. He served on the
Olympics Board for London 2012 and was Deputy Mayor of the Paralympic Village.

Jonathan Stephens began his career in the Northern Ireland Office, where he was closely involved in the peace process, working with all sides to deliver the Good Friday Agreement.
